During lockdown, I found myself aimlessly scrolling through online shopping sites such as Amazon to fuel my shopping addiction. I am a massive fan of whacky earrings so I ended up on a site called Etsy, a shopping website where people can start small businesses and sell their creations at an amazingly affordable price.
However, as I scrolled down the website, I found some very unusual earrings which would never be sold on the local high street or shopping centre, from bizarre baby-themed earrings to Nicolas Cage. Here are the 10 of the most unorthodox earrings on Etsy.
10. Paint Palettes
The tamest on this list, this set is actually something I’d personally buy myself and they are really cool. The paint palette is useable so you can channel your inner Bob Ross on the go.
9. Bubble Wands
The next set on this list is also something I’d get myself. You can have your own little bubble party all the time! Bubble wands also just trigger childhood nostalgia of going home from birthday parties and finding these in your goodie bags.
8. Magic Worms
Again, childhood memories resonate a lot with these.
These earrings are the last mildly eccentric type on this list. It all goes downhill from here.
7. Baby riding a Cow
We are now getting to the point in the list where the earrings start to get more cursed as we move further. This was the first pair I saw in the earrings section and it peaked my interest as your thought process for buying earrings wouldn’t be “I want earrings that look like a baby straddling a cow”.
6. Condoms
There is this trend recently where people are sticking whatever on earring hooks and selling them as earrings; soy sauce packets and condoms are no exception to that. Luckily, the earring hook is at the end so if you desperately need an extra packet then this would come in handy.
5. Nicolas Cage as The Mona Lisa
Who doesn’t want Cage as The Mona Lisa on your ears? These incredibly niche type of earrings are just *chef’s kiss*.
4. Bloody Menstrual Pads
Do not be alarmed, these are not actually bloody menstrual pads (thankfully). These questionably cute little earrings made by the creator handmadebyjamiem said: “(they want to help) end the stigma and shame around periods.” Which is amazing that by making different products such as earrings can aid to ignite the talk about taboo subjects such as periods and menstruation that really are just part of normal life but need to be talked about more.
3. Bloody Tampons
Continuing with the theme of menstruation, in the words of the creator: “super stylish delightful bloody tampon earrings” are definitely something that wouldn’t be sold in your local Primark or Debenhams (rest in peace).

If you want to feel like you’ve stepped into an episode of Narcos, these are the pair for you!
1. Decapitated Baby Head and Torso
For the grand finale, these are the weirdest pair of earrings I stumbled on. Where do I even begin with this? I had a closer look at these and you can get whole babies with decapitated limbs or heads with scars. I’ve noticed that there was a growing hype with plastic baby jewellery but this just takes the cake for the most horrifying and disturbing.
